1. Applicability
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all users of the Halio Platform, including:
- Direct Customers: Individuals or businesses subscribing directly to Halio.
- Licensees: Organisations using a white-labelled version of Halio.
- End Users: Individuals accessing the Platform via a Licensee.
Licensees are responsible for ensuring that their End Users comply with this AUP.
2. Prohibited Activities
When using the Platform, you must not engage in any of the following:
2.1 Commercial Exploitation
- Sub-licensing, selling, renting, leasing, assigning, or otherwise commercially exploiting the Platform or its services, unless expressly authorised by Halio.
2.2 Access and Account Sharing
- Allowing more than one individual to use a single login.
- Circumventing subscription limits or usage restrictions.
- Sharing accounts outside your authorised team.
2.3 Intellectual Property Infringement
- Uploading or sharing content without the necessary rights or permissions.
- Infringing the intellectual property rights of Halio, its licensors, or any third party.
2.4 Unlawful Content or Conduct
- Uploading or transmitting content that is defamatory, misleading, threatening, fraudulent, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or illegal.
- Promoting violence, terrorism, exploitation of children, or non-consensual intimate content.
- Violating privacy, publicity, or data protection rights.
2.5 Spamming and Unsolicited Messages
- Using the Platform to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
- Breaching applicable electronic communications or marketing laws.
2.6 Malicious Activity
- Uploading malware, viruses, worms, or other harmful code.
- Attempting to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform or its security.
2.7 Competitive Use
- Using the Platform to build a competing product or service.
- Copying Halio’s design, workflows, or functionality.
2.8 Sensitive Data Requests
- Using the Platform to collect or process sensitive personal data (e.g., medical information, social security numbers, financial data) unless lawful and permitted by Halio’s data protection policies.
2.9 Removal of Proprietary Notices
- Removing or altering copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the Platform.
2.10 Use of Halio’s Name or Branding
- Using Halio’s name, trademarks, or branding without written permission, except where functionality explicitly permits (e.g., social sharing buttons).
3. AI and Compliance Checker Use
3.1 AI Features
- AI outputs are assistive only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or infringing.
- You must review, verify, and approve all AI outputs before use.
- You must not rely on AI outputs as legal, financial, medical, or regulatory advice.
3.2 Compliance Checker
- The compliance checker tool is an assistive aid only and may not detect all issues.
- You remain solely responsible for ensuring your content is compliant with laws, regulator rules, and company requirements.
- Relying solely on the compliance checker is a breach of this AUP.
4. Data Protection and Privacy
- Users must comply with applicable data protection laws, including UK GDPR.
- Do not upload unlawful or excessive personal data.
- Halio provides tools to help with compliance, but responsibility rests with you.
5. Security Obligations
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is strongly recommended where available.
- Notify Halio immediately of any unauthorised access or suspected breach of your account.
6. Third-Party Dependencies
- The Platform integrates with Third-Party Services (e.g., social media APIs).
- You must comply with the terms of those services.
- Halio is not responsible for interruptions caused by third parties.
7. Enforcement and Violations
7.1 Enforcement by Licensees
If you access Halio through a Licensee, the Licensee is primarily responsible for enforcing this AUP with its End Users.
7.2 Enforcement by Halio
Halio reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any user or Licensee found in violation of this AUP.
7.3 Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation, report it promptly to Halio at support@halio.ai.
8. Modifications
Halio may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via email. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance.
